LAUSD Chief Facilities Executive Guy Mehula joined iSEE Architecture & Engineering students at the Vista Hermosa Park Dedication on July 19, 2008. At the event, iSEE students learned about how LAUSD partners with other agencies to bring needed resources to communities, like the playfield at the park, as well as how these resources are designed to support community use.

California Green Schools Summit

Randy Britt "Green" Theme

The largest "green" school construction program in the nation took part in the second annual California Green Schools Summit in Anaheim on December 9 - 10 in a big way. LAUSD Director of Sustainability Initiatives Randy Britt (pictured) led four sessions on How to Implement a Sustainability Plan, How to do Business with LAUSD, Solar for Schools, and Green Schools Commissioning in additon to a session led by Ying Wang on LAUSD's implementation of Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) criteria. Hundreds attended the Summit, from various school districts and school administrators, to vendors and non-profits supporting the emerging "green" economy.
